Psalm 139

It is one thing to say that God is sovereign and in total control. In fact, if we harp on that and emphasize only that, it can potentially leave the false impression that God is distant, removed, and that we are merely robots carrying out what He has planned. That, of course, couldn't be further from the truth! When you deal with the reassurance of His involvement in our lives, it sheds light on the teaching of God's sovereignty, giving it a fuller, broader picture. God's absolute control includes His intimate, grace-filled involvement in our everyday lives. As Psalm 139 teaches, God made us, He is with us, He knows us, and He protects us.
